Maybe we should take the lesson of Thanksgiving and apply it to every day of our lives.
Yes, yes, I know it’s all wrapped up in the story of the Pilgrims and everything and also it is uniquely an American custom but let’s for a moment take its Harvest Festival (and Pagan) trappings and cast them aside to talk about the things that are amazing in the world around us... things which are beautiful and things that make the world better.
Now I come to culture late and this is something I’ve heard countless times over the course of my life but for some reason, I had gotten on one of my Internet idles and did some looking around and exploring and found some of the background about this particular item and walked away with a greater appreciation of it.
So for Thanksgiving I give you this:
And while you might find yourself a bit lost by it all, maybe knowing the lyrics will help:

When will I love you?
Good Lord, I don’t know,
Maybe never, maybe tomorrow.
But not today, that’s for sure.
Love is a rebellious bird
that nobody can tame,
and you can call him (although it is) quite in vain,
because it suits him not to come.
Nothing helps, neither threat nor prayer.
One man talks well, the other, silent;
but it’s the other that I prefer.
He says nothing, but he pleases me.
Oh, love! Love! Love! Love!
Love is a gypsy’s child,
it has never known the law;
if you love me not, then I love you;
if I love you, you'd best beware! (You’d best beware!)
if you love me not,
if you love me not, then I love you (You’d best beware!)
but if I love you,
if I love you, you'd best beware!
The bird you hoped to catch
beat its wings and flew away…
love stays away, you wait and wait;
when least expected, there it is!
All around you, swift, swift,
it comes, goes, then it returns…
you think you hold it fast, it flees
you think you’re free, it holds you fast.
Oh, love! Love! Love! Love!
Love is a gypsy’s child,
it has never known the law;
if you love me not, then I love you;
if I love you, you’d best beware! (You’d best beware!)
if you love me not,
if you love me not, then I love you (You’d best beware!)
but if I love you,
if I love you, you’d best beware!

but if I love you,
if I love you, you’d best beware!
